Final Idea
Inspiration For Final Shoot

I decided to do final idea on a studio-based shoot as coincidently my client (model –Oriana Sanchez) send me a letter asking me to shoot her for a personal portfolio. She wanted manly fashion based images with colorful lighting and quirky outfits.
She wanted to have a very 90’s rave and 2000 old school outfit themed shoot as this is what is trending very highly on the cat walks at the moment with Moshino and Fendi, also a lot of designers are bringing back the old school style.
She asked my to find some sort of inspiration so I decided to go onto Pintrest as I know there are a lot of trending fashion boards and bloggers. Also a lot of makeup inspiration and outfit ideas that help my client and me understand what she wanted to shoot. It also gave me an idea of what kind of poses and positions she should be in and if I would need props etc.
My client specifically wanted to do her own hair and makeup as she had a very good idea of what she want to look like as she had been research a lot of modeling agency’s she wanted to be applying for. Is specifies that you need to have a wide range of experience with different shoots, from studio to location shooting and also different themed such as fashion portraits etc. Experience is key.
This was good for me as I have done a lot of studio-based shoots and know how to work everything correctly. The only thing I had never tried was the different colored gel lighting, this was a new feature to me and using it with my model was going to take to trial and error to getting used to which colors correspond with each other. This is why I did my test shoot before with the pink lighting; this was a good idea as it gave me a little bit more of an understand how to use the gel lights and how the colored shadow reflects behind the model.
Further more I have print screened my Pintrest page, and also added a slide of the individual images I used for my inspiration for the shoot. My client specifically asked my to create a mood board so she could easily vision what she wanted and also add or adjust what she did not like. This made is easier for me to ask her questions about what other little accessories I should add and what style of shoes she wanted, I knew she wanted to style a range of different outfits so I needed to bring a range of different shoes to match with he outfits.

Final Images

The image on the right is one of my best motion images from the movement and motion of her hair. Also the highlights in her hair show the reflection of the gel light. The position of her face was one of the most important things to fit in with the movement of the hair and how it was flicking in time with when she is looking directly at the camera. The eye contact that the audience looks with the models eye is very powerful. The position of the model was side profile, as then it would make it easier to capture the flick of her hair. I also love the effect of how her hair looks as if it is floating in mid hair and how you can clearly see the individual curls. This photo was an experiment at the time and turned out very successful. Moschino was one of my biggest influences when creating a mood board for my client as I knew Moschino as a designer was one of the biggest individual unique designers and there style in 1990 and 200 was exactly what I was looking for. The while style of Moschino’s 2000 collection was exactly what I was looking for inspiration for my models outfits hair and makeup. The whole 2000 collection of the video I have shown, give you an exact idea of what I was going for but more obviously I had to result to finding alternatives in high street shops such as Topshop, JD spots, TX Maxx as they also have some designers, Size, I also had a look on Depop which is an online app where you can sell and buy items of clothing shoes accessories and more. I knew there was a lot of designer items on this website so I decided to order some items for the shoots, I wanted to stay for the whole them of 90’s and the Barbie theme of sport form the photos of the Moschino cat walk. Matching adidas co-ord sets and tommy Hilfiger underwear.

As you can see these are all of my final images I have decided to use, I feel like these are a varied selection of what my client wanted form the outcome of this shoot. Clear face shoots with a selection of different outfits themed on the whole era of the 90’s and also 2000 styled desire fashion were. I loved how the hair flick with the contrast of the lighting worked out so well, I am also very happy as my model was very easy to communicated with making nice smooth conversation and not pushing in telling her what positions and stasis to stand in. The colures tuned out perfectly and the editing proses of these images where easier that I thought, using the adjustment tool to highlight and bring out the background along side with a spot healing tool just to get rid of blemishes and imperfections on her face so when I zoomed in you could not see anything not perfect. Her skin was very clear and she did her own Hair and MUA as sated.
